2022 AirStage Ofrenda by Adrian Marban
Last year as part of Día de Muertos, Denver-based artist Adrian Marban created an ofrenda inside the AirStage, Breck Create’s retrofitted 1975 Airstream trailer. The ofrenda, or altar, toured 4 local elementary schools and 3 community locations.
Students decorated paper butterflies in remembrance of loved ones and pinned them to a fabric display, which each school kept. Many butterflies honored grandparents and pets. About 1,800 people over the course of 2 weeks contributed butterflies to the ofrenda.
