Après-Ski (and Après-Hike) Meets Live Music: Where to Go in Breckenridge

Live Music in Breck

Key Takeaways

  • The après ritual in Breckenridge runs year-round. You can enjoy Après-Ski in winter and Après-Hike and Après-Bike all summer long.

  • Breck Create’s AirStage Summer Après is free live music every Thursday at 5pm in the Ridge Street Arts Square, June 11–September 24, 2026. No tickets, no reservation required.

  • The Riverwalk Center is running evening shows from June through October. There will be 20+ NRO orchestral concerts, as well as BIFA headliners and the Five Dollar Film Series.

  • You can grab tickets in person at the old Masonic Lodge (136 South Main Street) to skip the service fee charged online or by phone.

If you spend any extended time in Breckenridge, you’ll find that the region has a bit of an après-arc. It starts with a cold drink in the sun. And if you know where to go, it ends with some great live music!

The key is knowing where to go and what to catch, and when. Here’s our guide to Après-Ski/Après-Hike and live music in Breckenridge – add these to your calendar so you don’t miss a thing!

The Opening Act

When you think about après culture in Breckenridge, the bar layer is well-earned. On the mountain, T-Bar at Peak 8 is a classic — and is often named one of the best après-ski bars in North America.

In town, RMU on South Main Street is the local perennial. This spot offers a backyard beer garden, live indie and bluegrass, happy hour daily – all you need for après ski any day of the week.

Whiskey Star Smokehouse runs live sets on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Motherloaded Tavern draws a crowd Friday through Sunday. Blue River Bistro does two happy hours daily.

But this is just the tip of the iceberg. Breck Create’s programming picks up right where happy hour leaves off. Here’s what you can look forward to in the weeks and months ahead:

AirStage Summer Après

At Breck Create, we’re proud to run a weekly après series (and we literally called it that).

AirStage Summer Après is free live music every Thursday at 5pm in the Ridge Street Arts Square. The events run June 11 through September 24, 2026 – 15+ weeks of free Thursday evening music in the heart of the Arts District.

The stage is built into a retrofitted 1975 Airstream Ambassador, and best of all, it’s walkable from every bar on Main Street. (And did we mention it’s free?)

So bring a blanket, grab takeout from Main Street, and settle in for a variety of great shows and entertainment. The 2026 calendar includes DOGTAGS (June 11 — the Pride opener), Chris Bauer Trio (July 2), Moonstone Quill (July 9), and Frail Talk (August 20).

New artists are being added weekly, so keep your eyes on the Breck Create calendar.

The Riverwalk Center

If the AirStage is the warm-up, then the Riverwalk Center is the headliner. This 750-seat indoor hall at 150 W. Adams Avenue runs evening shows June through October.

The National Repertory Orchestra anchors the summer with an 8-week residency: 20+ orchestral concerts, from Jurassic Park in Concert (July 18) to the Fourth of July Spectacular (July 4), plus more than 30 free community performances.

Outside the NRO calendar:

  • The Velveteers bring gritty Colorado garage rock on June 12 (free)

  • Pattie Gonia closes out BIFA weekend on August 21 with a keynote, drag performance, and dance party

  • Beats Antique follows on August 22

And the Breck Five Dollar Film Series runs all year — Rocky Horror (June 11), Alice in Wonderland (August 23), and The Shining (October 23).

Après-Hike: Trade the Trail for a Thursday Show

Breckenridge’s trail network and its live music scene are closer than you might think — in some cases, they’re the same block.

After a morning on the Peaks Trail or an afternoon summit of Quandary Peak, the AirStage Summer Après is a natural wind-down.

The Ridge Street Arts Square is walkable from most trailheads that funnel back through downtown, and Thursday shows run from 5pm — early enough to catch before dinner!

Make a Full Weekend of It with BIFA

Want to get the full après-to-evening experience in Breckenridtge? Then we invite you to come during BIFA 2026 — August 20–23. The free outdoor AirStage runs in Blue River Plaza.

A bike-powered stage goes up on the Riverwalk Center Lawn. Pattie Gonia plays Friday night; Beats Antique closes Saturday; $5 Dollar Films runs Sunday.
