Aimee Kuiper

Robert Whyte House
May 13 - September 2, 2025

Aimee Kuiper is an author and illustrator from the suburban wilds of Savage, Minnesota. Her vibrant character art centers around third culture stories, bringing diverse characters to life.

She has exhibited in galleries across the midwest and east coast, including The Yards Collective (Rochester, NY), Thorp Building (Minneapolis, MN), Johnson Gallery (St Paul, MN), Packard Gallery (Vermillion, SD), and Seneca Park Zoo Poetry Competition (Irondequoit, NY) as well as in print publications like Cicada Creative Magazine, Strictly Magazine, Residual Believers Magazine, and The Howling Press

When she is not in the studio, Aimee teaches youth workshops in local art hubs, most recently at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum. Her community work has been made possible by support from the Charles M. Schulze Grant, a Minnesota State Arts Board Grant, and a KinHouse artist residency in Paris, Tennessee.

This year, she published her graphic novel series and accompanying workbook, This Is Your Story, teaching young artists how to tell their own stories. Her personal practice has fueled a passion to make art accessible to all ages, abilities, and communities.

While in Residence

Aimee Kuiper’s residency at Breck Create is coming soon, from May 13th to September 2nd, 2025.

During her Breck Create residency, Aimee will write and illustrate two chapters in her ongoing children’s graphic novel series, The Micaiah Monson Story. This series highlights the stories of Third Culture Kids through the magical adventure of a young girl searching for her mother.

You can find Aimee in her studio working with sustainable, kid-friendly materials such as biodegradable cardboard, recycled paper, crayons, colored pencils, and craft markers.
