The 2026 Breckenridge International Festival of Arts (BIFA) invites audiences to step through the looking glass into a multi-sensory exploration of art, music, theatre, and film where reality bends and imagination blooms. This year’s festival explores the joyous wonder of adventure, creativity, nature, and play inspired by everything from psychedelic sounds and curious gatherings to wild creatures and unexpected encounters.
BIFA 2026 will unfold over four days — August 20–23 — throughout the Arts District Campus in downtown Breckenridge.
THURSDAY, AUG 20
DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE
The journey begins as the mysterious Blue Birds emerge and a collection of artists guides audiences into new realms of imagination. Enjoy opening-night performances on the Ridge Street Arts Square and create wearable art that you can don throughout the weekend. Step into Other Worlds and become part of the story.
FRIDAY, AUG 21
THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS
Start the day with Acoustic Flow before stepping into a world reversed, refracted, and delightfully askew. Free music on two outdoor stages, immersive art, playful encounters, and a headlining performance with Pattie Gonia transform Breckenridge into a place where reflections come alive and everything familiar becomes strangely new.
SATURDAY, AUG 22
KALEIDOSCOPE OF WEIRD + WONDERFUL
Participate, play, and experience the festival at its most vibrant. Expect playful absurdities, bike-powered performances, and joyful surprises as Breckenridge transforms into a living prism. As day turns to night, gather for Beats Antique’s electrifying fusion of music, dance, and spectacle in a celebration of collective joy.
SUNDAY, AUG 23
RETURN TO REALITY WITH NEW EYES
Through film, artist conversations, music, and moments of reflection, Sunday invites audiences to gather, connect, and make meaning from the weekend’s journey. As Other Worlds draws to a close, step back into reality carrying the wonder, the weird, and the wildly beautiful with you—seeing the familiar with fresh eyes and a renewed sense of possibility.

Two outdoor stages, the AirStage in Blue River Plaza and a new bike-powered stage on the Riverwalk Center Lawn, will feature a lineup of free music throughout Friday and Saturday of the Festival, showcasing eclectic artists whose psychedelic sounds, cosmic Americana, indie folk, roots music, and interactive performances echo this year’s exploration of Other Worlds.
