Gone Fishin’
Summit County loves fishing almost as much as it does skiing. Anytime the rivers are running, wader-clad fishermen and women are a familiar sight—perched still and focused, thigh-deep in cold mountain water, as they patiently try to lure a cutthroat or rainbow trout with a carefully selected fly. Steve Puchek’s piece pays homage to the immutability of this pastime, his flat-panel steel fisherman ever casting his line in the Blue River. After appearing in the Sculpture on the Blue exhibit, the piece was purchased for the Breckenridge public art collection by Pat and Jack Thomas.
