ABOUT KIKI DAVIS

Ingrid “Kiki” Díaz-Davis is a Summit County-based artist originally from Guatemala, currently serving as an Artist in Residence at the Randall Barn Studio at Breck Create. Grounded in a rich cultural heritage and a deep passion for inclusivity, Kiki creates vibrant, nature-inspired works that span across textile art, printmaking, jewelry, and clothing design.

Before moving to the United States, Kiki worked as a professional architect in Guatemala. She also shared her expertise within academia, teaching specialized art and architecture classes for university students in both architecture and industrial engineering programs. However, her life shifted completely in 2018 when she immigrated to Colorado. Facing an unexpected and overwhelming lifestyle shift, she turned to creative expression to heal and process the profound emotional toll of immigration and grief.

Finding herself unexpectedly adjusting to an abrupt change in lifestyle, culture, and career, this intuitive, self-taught creative practice became a vital anchor for her mental health. It helped her actively navigate anxiety, profound life changes, and the personal grief of losing her brother.

Realizing the healing power of the creative process, Kiki wanted to share this tool with her new community. In 2021, she and her husband co-founded Simple Art Studio, which has since blossomed into a full-time, thriving creative enterprise. Through her practice, she actively designs and leads art workshops for local non-profits, locals, and tourists in Summit County. Her mission is to show others how artistic expression can serve as a daily wellness routine for stress relief and emotional grounding, comparable to meditation or going for a walk.

Today, her practice continues to evolve around Summit County. Highly collaborative and deeply connected to her fellow makers, Kiki’s multi-disciplinary projects celebrate absolute free expression, honoring the delicate balance between the landscape of her roots and the fragile beauty of the natural world surrounding her today.
