Step into the magic of the mountains after dark and learn how to photograph the night sky with confidence. This hands-on class introduces you to the art and technique of astrophotography – blending starscapes with compelling foregrounds to create images that truly tell a story.

You’ll learn how to plan, shoot, and edit stunning night photos, whether you’re just starting out or refining your skills. We’ll cover everything from choosing the right gear and scouting locations to shooting in low light and editing in Lightroom and Photoshop. Along the way, you’ll pick up creative techniques like light painting to elevate your images.

This class is contingent on weather conditions and dark sky quality. Ideally, you’ll head out to practice under the stars – because the best way to learn is by doing!

Who It’s For:

All skill levels welcome – whether you’re picking up a camera for the first time or looking to expand your low-light photography skills.

Materials:

DSLR or Mirrorless camera
Wide-angle lens (24mm or wider recommended), preferably f2.8 or faster but an f4 lens can work too.
Sturdy Tripod
Optional: remote shutter/timer, headlamp, LED light, extra batteries
Software: Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop
