Always wanted to try the pottery wheel? This introductory class is for you! Dive into the process of “throwing” clay on the wheel and create your very first simple, one-off pieces ( small bowls or cylinders). Our instructor will guide you step-by-step through centering the clay and pulling up the walls.

Once you’ve finished throwing, you have a choice: keep your pieces  OR release some stress and smash them! This class is the perfect blend of creative focus and cathartic fun—no pressure, just spin, learn, and smash to release some energy. All materials are included, and no prior experience is required!

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE REGISTERING

Ceramics is a multi step process that takes many weeks for a completed glazed project. Kiln firings occur when there is enough work to fill the kiln. For ceramic glazing instructions and techniques, please consider taking the Ceramics Glazing Class to complete your project.

Pricing

Breck Create Members: $48.75, no fees
Non-Members: $65 + $6.50 service fee
The cost of the class includes materials and use of studio equipment and tools.

Age Requirement

Participants must be 17 or older to participate.
