While in Residence
Jodi Stuart’s residency at Breck Create is coming soon, from September 9th to December 30th, 2025.
During her stay at the Tin Shop Jodi is excited to explore two new methods of art making. First, the possibility of re-formatting recycled plastic waste using the Precious Plastic Lab. And second, working outside, using the colder climate to create delicate ice sculptures.
Jodi is excited to explore the tools and machinery of the ‘Precious Plastics Lab’ and to work with Breck Create and the community to see what can be achieved together using this fantastic resource. She would love to develop artworks that explore transforming waste from the community, into new works for her future exhibition at the Old Masonic Hall. Included in this exhibition Jodi wants to collaborate with the Breck community to reform plastic waste to create an amorphous sculpture.
Jodi also wants to take advantage of the cooler climate in Breckenridge, to explore working outdoors, creating delicate ice sculptures. For a couple of winters now she has been attempting to make sculptures by misting transparent 3d armatures with layers of frozen water. But in Denver, where she is based, winters are no longer cold enough to keep the sculptures frozen. So Jodi is going to have a lot of fun with this during her stay!
