In this hands-on workshop, you will learn to blend the practical utility of a mirror with the vibrant artistry of traditional stained glass. Students will explore the foundational techniques of the copper foil method, from safely cutting and grinding glass to mastering the fluid art of soldering. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your skills, you’ll be guided through the process of designing a custom decorative frame that complements the reflective surface of your mirror. By the end of the course, you will have navigated the intricacies of light and reflection, walking away with a unique, handcrafted piece that adds a touch of light to any space.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE REGISTERING

All tools and materials are provided. Students will be working with sharp glass and hot soldering irons, safety glasses and thorough instruction are included, but minor injuries such as cuts or burns are possible.

Safety is an extremely high priority in this class. Please wear natural fiber clothing (such as cotton or wool) and if possible, we encourage students with glasses to wear contact lenses.

This class is perfect for beginners—no prior experience necessary. Recommended for ages 17 and up.
