Date Night Creative Class: Baby It’s Cold Outside—Make Your Own Ugly Sweaters
Thursday, December 6 • Old Masonic Hall • 21+
Make a statement at your holiday parties this year with a bespoke ugly sweater created in tandem with your partner. In this class, you and your partner will choose from a red or white sweatshirt to decorate in the best worst way. Enjoy a drink and mingle with other couples while you choose from an assortment of festive embellishments to make something that is utterly reflective of you.
Performance: The Nutcracker: Land of the Sweets
Friday, December 6 – Sunday, December 8 • Riverwalk Center
This classical ballet presented by the Alpine Dance Academy and featuring local Summit-County performers will transport you to the land of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Join Clara and the Nutcracker Prince for this beloved holiday tradition.
Community Event: Handmade Holiday
Saturday, December 7 • Arts District Campus • FREE
Embracing the spirit of the holiday season, Breck Create invites you to the annual Handmade Holiday, which coincides with the Lighting of Breckenridge festivities. A veritable holiday open house, this event allows Breck Create’s instructors to showcase their artwork (jewelry, ceramics, prints and more) and also lead creative activities such as ornament and holiday craft workshops. Find the perfect gift, enjoy holiday music and some holiday cheer (cash bar) while wandering through the winter wonderland of downtown Breckenridge.
Community Event: Lighting of Breckenridge & Race of the Santas
Saturday, December 7 • Downtown Breckenridge • FREE
Breckenridge ups the ante on small town holiday charm with the return of Lighting of Breckenridge and Race of the Santas. The first weekend of December kicks off a festive holiday scene in the streets of Breckenridge. Hundreds of Santa look-alikes will run down Main Street in a race to celebrate the start of the holiday season. Hang out post-race and watch the town transform into a wonderland thanks to more than 13,000 feet of 250,000 dazzling LED lights. The iconic holiday lights in downtown Breckenridge are one of the most photographed sights during the snowy months and continue to sparkle all winter long.

Performance: Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!)
Wednesday, December 11 – Monday, December 30 • Breckenridge Theater
Instead of performing Charles Dickens’ beloved holiday classic for the umpteenth time, a group of actors decide to perform every Christmas story ever told — plus Christmas traditions from around the world, seasonal icons from ancient times to topical pop-culture, and every carol ever sung. Watch your favorites like A Christmas Carol, It’s a Wonderful Life, Rudolph and the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty, and more! A hilarious madcap romp that will have you laughing through the whole holiday season! This show is family friendly and perfect for all ages.
Community Event: Ullr Fest
Thursday, December 12 – 14 • Downtown Breckenridge
Grab your Viking helmets and celebrate all things winter at the 61st anniversary Ullr Fest. Breckenridge invites locals and visitors of all ages to praise Ullr, the Norse god of snow, in hopes of a powder-filled ski season. Show your devotion at the Main Street parade and become part of history by helping to break the unofficial world record at the longest Shotski® attempt. If you’re in for a legendary party, this is one you won’t want to miss!

Performance: Ullr Comedy Night
December 13 • Riverwalk Center • Ages 18+
Ullr Comedy Night features two nationally acclaimed comedians and a silent auction to support Carriage House Early Learning Center in Breckenridge. Childcare for children 3 and older is offered from 6:00pm until 10:30 nearby at Mountain Top Explorium. Please find details and register here.
About the comedians: Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald has been entertaining audiences since 1986 and is widely known for his time on Animal Planet’s Emergency Vets. Our highly decorated headliner Devin Siebold is joining us as he takes a break from his national tour with the Bored Teachers Comedy Tour. He delivers an endless supply of intelligent, clean humor that leaves audiences rolling with laughter. Both will surely be a highlight of your Ullr weekend.
Free Art Exhibition: Our River Flowing From Our Eyes: Camille Hoffman + Gyun Hur
December 20 – March 16 • Old Masonic Hall • FREE
The exhibition title is extracted from The First Water is The Body by Natalie Diaz.
This exhibition brings together the work and friendship of two artists as an emerging landscape through a site-specific installation with communal activations. Derived from personal and collective histories, along with a close examination and reimagination of landscape imagery and formation, Hoffman and Hur bring their sensibilities and interpretation of Breckenridge, Colorado, using vinyl, painting, glass sculptures, and local river water.
