ABOUT THE PROGRAM
As the NRO’s first Music, Mix & Mingle evening, this concert offers a fresh take on a night out: arrive early for drinks and a lively pre-concert mingle set to Bridgerton-style strings, then settle in for a dynamic, one-hour performance that is vibrant, social, and effortlessly fun.
“American Landscapes” paints expansive sound-worlds that reflect the vastness and diversity of the nation’s terrain and spirit. Bates’ Desert Transport propels listeners across sun-baked horizons with rhythmic drive and shimmering orchestral color, conjuring the heat, motion, and beauty of the Southwest. Schoenberg’s American Symphony responds to the promise of change, crafting an emotional arc from introspective passages to vibrant celebration.
