Natural Pigment Making
Discover the potential to create your own art materials from the natural world through this hands-on pigment making series. Using simplified traditional techniques, students will explore how paint can be created from foraged materials found in our mountain landscape.
Each session will involve grinding raw materials into pigment, mixing them with binding mediums, and experimenting with the unique color palette created from that week’s materials. Part art, part material exploration, this class invites students to slow down, observe their surroundings differently, and transform natural elements into paint.
