Hosted Within: Inner Harmony, an immersive installation by Laurie Shapiro

Inspired by the lotus flower’s journey from mud to bloom, this participatory experience invites guests to reflect on what they wish to nurture, celebrate, and bring forward in their lives. Through breath, contemplation, and a symbolic tea-light ritual, participants are encouraged to slow down, connect with their intentions, and honor what inspires and energizes them.

As individual lights are illuminated, they become part of a larger collective glow—a shared expression of creativity, belonging, and the many unique gifts that strengthen our community.

Gathered together, participants will create a moment of reflection and connection while celebrating both individual aspirations and the power of shared experiences.

This experience takes place within Inner Harmony, Laurie Shapiro’s immersive, hand-painted environment of color, light, and pattern inspired by BIFA’s theme of Other Worlds.
