Precious Plastics: Upcycled Plastic Mosaics

In this class we will be using plastics collected by the Precious Plastics program to create a beautiful mosaic. Using simple cutting tools, we will shape and place plastic pieces into a mold. Then using a heat press, the plastics will be melted into a single piece. Come make a truly unique piece of art and learn about our evolving Precious Plastics Program.
What to Know Before Registering
Safety is the highest priority in this class. Please wear long pants, closed toe shoes and secure long hair. During this class participants will be required to wear an organic vapor half face respirator mask with activated carbon filters to protect from harmful fumes while melting plastic. Mask usage is not optional during melting and participants who will not wear their mask will be asked to leave without a refund.
The heat press takes time and so students will retrieve their pieces the next day from the Old Masonic Hall on 136 S. Main Street.

Breck Create Members: $23, no fees
Non-Members: $30 +$4 service fee
The cost the class includes materials and tools.
Age Requirement
Participants must be 17 or older to participate.
